Soooo Beautiful that was! But tell me Passion ....how come such noble thoughts on so colorful a personality? And as you say that you've learnt to talk to animals,....will you please keep talking top Me?

It's nice of those wolves to try and put your mind at ease...LOL!
I think it's so cool when a human is in tune with nature in all its glory. I've learned so much talking to animals.

Passionflower

Yes, yes, yes, I listen to the animals too and I have 2 chipmunks here that chatter at me all the time.

And the bluejays sit on my balcony charis and call me to put more sunflower seeds in the feeder.

The wolves wander out of the woods every now and then, mostly they just tell me they're passing through so don't get all worked up.lol

I would get back to work Maggie...I need the money.
Missouri and Kentucky got lots of flooding last nite...Maybe they'll send me out to one of those and we won't need an earthquake.

I felt like a newborn baby, flailing around in its own blood for a while. The birth process ain't all that pretty. And it's damn sure painful! LOL!

I've got to get my coffee pot set up for morning and my CPAP ready for sleeping.    My husband will be ready for bed anytime now.  It's been very nice talking to you and I'll talk to you tomorrow if I catch you online.

Good night, Passion.  Good night, Nana.

Passionflower, that's how I felt when I got that job working at the polls
It seems like a dumb little job, just sitting there, hanging out with the elderly ladies who work the election tables every year, but it was something.  I have to start somewhere, too.  I feel like I'm starting over, in more ways than one.  I guess I have to walk before I can run.

If you ever need to talk please call or email....I've suffered from depression all my life. There's almost NOTHING I don't know about it...

Easy stuff that we're not doing.

Yes, Nana, I'm glad you were listening.

posted by MaggieMae on September 23, 2006 at 6:59 PM | link to this | reply

Of course you're right Blanche,

And I knew all that but needed to be reminded.

We can only do what we can do. We can't do it all. We were never meant to do it all. We were each meant to do our part though. I often don't feel like I'm doing enough.

Maybe it's a wake-up call to get more involved and not just write about it and tell people....I feel like that guy on the nursery rhyme who goes around yelling:

"The sky is falling. the sky is falling."

"The permafrost is melting. The permafrost is melting."

Passion, there was a man on tv yesterday, and I only caught part of it, but he was donating three billion of his fortune to the cleaning up the earth cause.  Dang, I wish I had listened better!  Maybe he'll get others interested - let's hope.  It's going to take a lot of money and work.

Passionflower, I adjusted my expectatoins of myself. I realized when I

examined my mind and conscience, that I had these high expectations and ideals, like I was going to save the world all by myself.  (Literally, I had felt that at times). When I accepted Jesus, I realized that it's all right, I am not the general in this battle, just a lowly foot soldier, and that every day I get up and try to do something, just one small thing, that I am doing what I am meant to do.

Or at least I am getting closer to it.  You do a lot of environmental consciousness raising here on the blog.  That seems like your calling. I'm not saying don't worry, be happy, becasue I don't think that's possible, once you see the truth and the whole facts, but find some peace in that the big picutre is in His hands, not ours.  That helped me to even do what small things I can.  Otherwise, I get paralyzed and can't do anything.

Ray Charles....It's A Rainy Night in Georgia
Hoverin' by my suitcase, tryin' to find a warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain fallin', seems I hear your voice callin' "It's all right."
A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia
It seems like it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world

I really love your ideas, Tony!
I would give anything if we could actually do that. How could we get the word out and make people listen? That would be the big problem...trying to get the world to do it.

Hi PF!
'Showdown' is a good song. I recommend it too. It's been very sunny today in the Manchester area, which has a reputation for being rainy. We need rain, if we're honest about caring about the earth. Rain is good. I think one of the best things people should do to reduce pollution is to live near their place of work. We should go back to living in cities, in apartments, so less people aspire to having mansions in the country and then drive tail to tail into the city to work (and then complain about it)! I have a flat very near to my office - 15 minutes walk away. It saves me vast amounts of money and time, as well. Partners therefore logically need to try to work in or around the same location, or it wouldn't work. Many of us then wouldn't need cars. We could walk, cycle or get the bus, and there would be less suburban sprawl. I could go on, but I'm sure there will be other times I could cover the subject. Good stuff!

Wow! I love those lyrics Nanaroo...

Thanks for going to all the trouble to post them. I'll bet that's a great song. But it's not the one I was thinking of...

"Rainy Night in Georgia"  - the tune won't stop running thru my head...LOL!

That song- I think it was popular in the '70's....
Is it this one by 'Electric Light Orchestra" ?  Anyway, the lyrics are cool... hope your weather improves!

All Over The World -

She cried to the southern wind
About a love that was sure to end
Every dream in her heart was gone
Headin’ for a showdown

Bad dreamer, what’s your name
Looks like we’re ridin’ on the same train
Looks as through there’ll be more pain
There’s gonna be a showdown

And it’s rainin’ all over the world
It’s raining all over the world
Tonight, the longest night

She came to me like a friend
She blew in on a southern wind
Now my heart is turned to stone again
There’s gonna be a showdown

Save me, oh save me
It’s unreal, the suffering
There’s gonna be a showdown

And it’s rainin’ all over the world
It’s raining all over the world
Tonight, the longest night

Blanche....even though you're right...
We are going to a better place, I don't feel I've done the things I was sent here to do. I feel like I've wasted too many years.  How do you deal with so much disappointment in yourself?

LMAO Offbeats...that's part of the excitement!
The adrenaline rush....You never know when you could get caught. You know I'm happiest when living on the edge. Life tends to bore me too easily.

Passionflower, I've always felt that same connection to the earth,
when I was 13, I was practically the only member of the Save the Environment club in my junior high.  There is a lot to get depressed about, if you think about it for long.  In the long run, though, whether we straighten it out or not, you and I are dead, so even though in the meantime, it's good to do what you can, and whatever you feel called to do, you're spirit and soul are going to a better place.

Offbeat...I'm IMing A right now.

He's coming over to spend the day with me. Richard has gone off racing with his friends. He's usually gone all day and half the nite.

I'm kind of excited but I told myself I wouldn't see A anymore. What do you think? Mistake or not?

I think most Americans don't want to know. In this case, what we don't know will hurt us very much.

Our power plants (US) are still in cooling ponds on site. Spent rods. The worst I think is the other nuclear by products of what was our military defense. They are or have been shipped to different sites. Double standard...the govt can move theirs, but not the utilities... not yet.

Good comment Msyticgamer...
I know you have a connection to the environment too. This rain is much needed here in Dallas. At least maybe we'll catch up on our rainfall.....

posted by Passionflower on September 23, 2006 at 10:14 AM | link to this | reply

Yes, very sad, Offbeat....

What worries me is, "What are they doing with all the waste by-products from those nuclear power plants?"

Ever wonder where they're putting that stuff?

good post P Flower
indeed the earth and its inhabitants do speak, and if we listen and if we see they will reveal to us the necessity of co existence and the harmony thats flows from it. I am witness to that all the time and it is endlessly enlightening and entertaining. Offbeats will be sending her rain my way i suspect. We're supposed to get a big storm but so far sun and clouds keep jockying for supremecy.

It's been raining here for a while..warm too. I don't remember that song..hum

I see more people aware of the earth than they were 15 years ago. Awareness takes time for some to see it is best for everyone. Wish more were aware, like I wish more would take advantage of our recycling here. If you don't take it in, they don't come and pick it up. Many recycles going into the land fills.... cans and plastics..did you know it takes over 20 years for a Pamper to completely dissolve? Sad...
