That's why I left blogit Mac...

Not to worry, BI.  Frost heave will probably topple it over next spring and we'll have to go through it all over again.

I'd love to accept the compliment, Blanche, but you should know that the only reason I know which end of a tire iron is actually a crowbar is because of the Commander.  As for MG programming the remote - what is a remote?

PostSmile!  Good News!  Only you could have a crooked house set back on the straight line while laughing all the way.

JohnMcnab, you're a man of many talents, I wouldn't know one end of
the crowbar from the other.  I like to think I compensate with sparkling conversation, and cooking skills.  However, Ell has more stringent requirements, and I can't say as I blame her.  If MG didn't know how to program the remotes, we'd still be changing the channels by hand.

Blanche
LOL, Blanche.  I hadn't considered another episode, but I'm sure I could manage one - just like all the swimming pools ones I haven't done.  I did manage to close up the crawl space entrance by dint of crowbar, hammer, chisel, snippers, insulation, self tapping screws, swearwords, boulders, gravel and soil.  The thing that worries me is that I don't know if the racoons beat me to it, and there is the occasional scratching from underneath.

JohnMcnab, Thank God for the Freds and Norms of the world, because
some of us, like myself, don't know which end is up when it comes to tools and handy household repair.  I really am clueless. Did you manage to keep the racooms homeless, by blocking off their access to the crawspace?  I hope everything gets leveled out, can't wait for the next installment of "Raised or Razed: The Razor's Edge".

Son # 3 chose the right business, Taps.  The fact that there are always jobs needing done is perhaps why I am busier in retirement than I was before.

Johnmcnab, There will never be a time that there isn't something to fix or be fixed.  That's why the contracting business of Son #3 is profitable and always busy with jobs awaiting.

fourcats
Yep, fourcats.  It is strange to be able to open the fridge door and not have to stop it crashing back into a cabinet.  Now it stays where it is supposed to.

So far she seems happy, jacenta, but it won't be long before she suggests the next job.

Wow!  I find Blogging hard work.  Yesterday I was on the computer at 7.15am and I was still reading and leaving comments at 10.15 am.   What I should be doing is writing my opus, but knowing me, it will never happen.

mneme
Ah!  A knowledgable reader.  I presume thats what happened, mneme, apart from the fact that the planks covered a larger area and distributed the load more evenly -(didn't that sound like I knew what I was talking about?)  Thank you for the compliment about the everyday

T'was a good course Mac..
..helped a lot with my 'novel' but it was a lot of work..reading other people's stuff. More work than blogging! ;)

I'm impressed
- Fred and Norm obviously know what they're doing, and I guess the 6 by 4 planks worked because they absorb the strain better than concrete! (I have watched "This Old House" once too often....).  Your writing makes entertainment out of the everyday.

It always amazes me as well, ginnie.  I'm going to make sure my work stretches out a few weeks, or months or.....  Thank you for the dialogue compliment, which has me completely nonplussed.  BTW, when are we going to hear about your course, mmm?

This morning I finished repairing the last door jamb.  Nothing left to do now except the stairwell, and it can wait for a long, long time.  Our granddaughter can't understand why her ball won't roll now.  You can't please everybody.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you now.  I am certain it will be nice having the house level, even if the table no longer does tricks and the marble activity dull.  hah-hah
