my father was a racist
I am white and live in rural America and was raised by a man who hated everyone.  If you weren't German - you were inferior - yet he married a beautiful Jewish woman.  But he literally just hated everyone.  I only hate people who have done something really rotten to me - that's two people from my past - an ex-boss and a woman who tried to sleep with my husband.  Where I live there are very few  black, hispanic, asian, or indian people - mostly white.  And all of the men around here hate everyone.  I don't have an answer, all I know is I find other cultures very interesting and have never had a problem with any race.  So i think that rules out how you were raised.

I missed you. Was wondering if all was alright. Let me put my points of racism across. I actually hate the subject but in anycase:

I believe we will always have racism and it will never disappear. We are born with different colours and different cultures. We are different and we should be proud of our differences. I was in a meeting in South Africa and my white boss, a black vet and I were in a conversation and the topic of racism came up. My boss (from England) said that he did not see colour anymore. He was oblivious to colour. The black vet's response was that she took that to be an insult. She said she was proud of who she was and it was insulting for one not to recognize that. I agreed 100% with her. I am not going to ignore who I am or where I come from. People need to learn to accept and respect others for who they are, taking into account their race as this cannot be ignored. Respect the different races with understanding and the harshness of hate that tarnishes racism will disappear.
