mneme
That's what I call having a guardian angel, mneme.  That was the name that eluded me - paving slab.  It is going well and depending on the weather I may be able to post part 3 today.

straightforward
That's a good question, straightforward.  It used to have a different name and be in another category, but I decided to move it to 'Everything Else' because the contents fits 'Everything or Anything Else,'  Just as long as I keep on with my writing hobby I don't care what it is called.

word
Thanks for popping in Word.  Nothing much happening here at all.

I had to laugh,
picturing their surprise that a house would be too heavy for a paving stone.  Have you thought of having a structural engineer look at it? (this is my practical side coming out here - can't help myself). Hope it's going well... A house we moved out of, a year or so beforehand, lost its roof and half the kitchen in a storm - now, that's timing, wouldn't you say?

BrightIrish
Thank you BrightIrish.  It is a case of laugh or cry and we decided it was easier to laugh - no tears to wipe away!

John
PostSmile! It amazes me that you and Ell could remain so calm through all that transpired and then you can come here and write such a lighthearted post about the handymen. You've made me smile with your words and smile again because it is not happening to me. I hope its finished soon.

ginnie
I'm glad you liked it ginnie.  The only reason we invited the workers in was so I could write a post and make everybody smile - success.

TAPS
It isn't such a big job, TAPS, but oddly enough, when they came back the next day, we both decided to do some gardening awaaaay at the bottom of the garden so we couldn't hear or see what was going on.

Johnmcnab, Que Cosa!   I absolutely abhor having to be home when there are workmen doing any kind of a job.   It sounds like you have a major undertaking there.
