Passion, coming on to Blogit has always been something I looked forward to each day. Now, all I tune into is people complaining about each other, having nothing good to say about one's writings, arguing, and arrogant comments. I've stayed away from it for a few days, only to come back to more of the same. The bloggers I enjoy most threatening to leave, or gone. What can we do to save our community of wonderful people - how can we keep us together, as we've always been? If it can't be righted, I too shall leave. I'm not having fun anymore.

Arial, Blackcat and Dave...I won't comment on what you've
Said past what I've already written. I think most of you know that I'm a big proponent of Free Speech and can't understand why someone wouldn't just NOT click on a post they find offensive.
There are several bloggers around here that I NEVER read because they continually stir up shit - As I've also previously said, if this type of negative energy, fighting and feuding continues, I'm quitting.
Life is too short to be involved in negative interaction with others on a daily basis.

Dave....
Quite simply, I addressed you here because that's what you asked me to do. I'm not being arrogant, but accomodating. It seems you will find fault in everything I do. Do you see it?
I'm asking now that we take this negativity private because no one else needs to be subject to it. It brings the entire site down. This conversation is exactly what hurts the site. I'm equally at fault for even addressing you.
Again, if you read my posts, you would have seen a definition of wet mop quite recently. I used it to describe myself when certain moods take over. We're all vulnerable to it. Of course you've been one on occasion, as has Ariala and myself. It's just a silly phrase... sort of like moooooooooo.
I don't know why you think I need to explain myself to you? Seriously. What kind of writer would speak of something with such authority yet not have even read the body of work? When exactly was the last time you read me? Jan? Feb? Mar? Was it a negative rant about you? Wow, I've made about 6-8 posts a day since then. Think they've all been negative and about you? Please. If I was so negative, why would people keep reading me??
There is really nothing else I can say to you. If you can't comply with private email to actually try to resolve some misconceptions, then our discussion is over. This will be my last reply on the topic. Again, I had wished for more, but expected nothing less.

Blackcat, your reply...
You didn't place this in my comments area or email with it. It's sheer arrogance to demand that my reply should be delivered in such a way.
Same as with Ariala, too. You are demonizing me. You're asserting that I dislike you and that I'm on a 'mission' to 'tear' you down with 'disparaging' language 'all over Blogit'. An unwarranted use of emotive language. This is not about you, this is about your persistent use of negativity to garner a feeling of 'us' and 'them'. Who wants to come to a site like that? I want this site to grow, not die.
As you say, I don't know you, but I know why I stopped reading your posts. That part is not about 'perception', it's about the experience of having read your work on here for longer than I care to remember. It encompasses times when I have challenged you on certain issues and have been dismissed out of hand and ridiculed in subsequent posts. You never name names, so it's all deniable. You know that others will be feeling a sense of being attacked too by your generalisations. The 'wetmops' have got to be some of us.
Your negative headlines haven't changed, so I doubt your posts have. Let's take your 'wetmops' coinage, a term of abuse for a group of bloggers, of which I may or may not be a member. You use this regularly in headlines and comments (and probably still in your blogs too) in order to target writers who are somehow lesser beings than yourself. This is the kind of negativity that is persistently used in your work. If anyone challenges you on it, you deny everything. It's unhealthy for the site. And this is my site as much as it is yours.
As requested, I won't use your name again. Same as Ariala, though, I would also request the exact opposite of you. If you're going to talk about me, name me.
Have a nice weekend. I shan't be emailing you or visiting your blogs.

I don't have any trouble believing peanuts could be evil, but surely cashews are divine. Peanut butter is so good, though, you have to approach it as if it's an evil temptress, seductive & sticky. We can't boycott all forms of nuts. Who would we read on Blogit, after all.

Dave...
Look, to me, this is all about perception. You dislike me. It's easy to see so we need not deny it. With that being such, you read my headlines differently than my readers. My headlines always relate to my post. My readers know this. They know me, and know I'm not a negative person. You don't read me, don't know me, and already dislike me, therefore you misconstrue nearly everything I say.
Take Taps recent headline about Dodo bloggers (I could find better examples, but this is recent). It was cute, wasn't it? I loved her post.... as did you... but we all love Taps. Had I used the same headline, you would have refused to click it and then swore my post was about you or was negative about bloggers somehow. Same thing goes for Offbeats. I bet if you asked her, she wouldn't find me to be negative at all? Do you see what I mean? Probably not... but anyways...
A few clarifications... first, I have not spoken about you, good or bad, since our comments in DM's post. I have no idea what you're talking about. I made my comments to you exactly where you asked for them, to your face, and then went back to work. Please show me where I spoke of you elsewhere? I'm so lost.
Second, my comment in regard to your mooing and nothing posts wasn't about negativity. It was about the fact that DM's post mentioned material that professionals would not like to see on Blogit. I found it surprising that you assumed it to be directed at only me and Ariala, but you didn't feel a need to defend your own juvenile behavior. Again, I really don't care what you post. It's your right to moo all you want, but the post begged the question. I don't expect an answer.
Dave, honestly, I'm in a no win situation with you, and I give up. I wish things were different but you don't have to like me, period. This is your decision. BUT, do not use my name in a disparaging way all over blogit. It really IS negative behavior, though you don't see it that way, plus, you really aren't allowed to do so.
If you have issue to take with me or wish to respond to my comment, please comment in my blog, or email me directly. I feel very bad to use Passion's humorous post comment area for this display. It's completely disrespectful. I'd love to find common ground and finally end your unwarranted mission to tear me down... but I don't wish to subject the blogit faithful to this any longer. Cheers.
p.s. Passion... your post really was funny. LOL

Ariala, your reply...
I've left you alone for months on end. And I'll continue to do so. I don't dismiss you entirely. Never have. Never would do. Another example of you demonizing me. What I do dismiss are the persistent negative practices that you (and others) are guilty of... negative 'blogger' headlines, false 'leaving' headlines, Distribution Lists, tittle-tattle with coded insults such as Blackcat's 'wetmop' expression. I could go on, but I don't believe you'll ever change, so I'll just go on combatting these practices in my own way.
I don't now and have never called you a 'negative blogger', but I do accuse you of a persistent use of negative practices.
As for talking about you in other blogs, my policy is to say someone's name if I'm talking about them. That's an honest way to be. Whereas what you do is a 'this blogger' approach, so that no-one really knows who it is you're talking about. It means you can deny anything that you're challenged on.
But, I'll happily stop being honest with you, if that's what you'd like. I won't mention your name again. Likewise, you can do me the courtesy of the exact opposite. When you're talking about me, name me. Same goes for Blackcat. Name the name. Be honest. Be upfront instead of insinuating all the time.
You don't need my 'approval' and I don't need yours. That's true enough.
Toodles to you, too.

Dave, my only comment to you is the same as always, I will write
whatever the fack I want and will not apologize for it. You can choose not to read me (which you have) and just leave me alone (which you still haven't done. Stop talking about me behind my back in people's blogs.) I've tried and tried to get along with you, commented on you in the past, but you've chosen to stereotype me as a "negative blogger" and people who read me know I'm not. I give up on trying to reason with you, but neither will I be controlled by you or anyone else. I love to write, laugh, enjoy fun headlines using any words I choose...I enjoy that in others, including you, but you dismiss me entirely...so, I will go and do what I do best...HAVE FACKING FUN with or without your "approval!" Toodles!

Dave, thanks for giving me the low-down on the boycotting thing-
As you know, I'm trying to stay away from here and do some real writing so I'm not up to date on all the latest blog wars but I DO know that they've been going on since the beginning of time.
This is one of the reasons WHY I'm not hanging out here as much anymore. And it's also the reason why RkyMtnActivist quit....there's too much negative energy around here.
I used the name of a blogger in a similar comment a week ago and was reported to Shaycom for harrassment.
I don't honestly think anyone at Shaycom checked the facts - I think they just took her word for it and sent me a nasty email. I didn't call this "other blogger" who I can't name here because she reports anyone who does at once -- But all I said was that I believed she was responsible for the spell that was put on Mark 2 years ago.
I didn't call her any names at all! Simply gave my opinion about an issue. But this sort of thing goes on far too often. Too many people whining about their rights being violated, mean-spirited posts, quite a few folks who can dish it out but can't take it.
Thanks for reminding me why I originally wanted to quit Blogit.

Passionflower, a few things…
Firstly, funny post. Entertaining, well-written and a parody which attempts to quell rather than fuel. A positive post. I have already been boycotting peanuts for many years. They are in league with seafood as agents of the devil. I will support your campaign.
Secondly, glad you got the clock sorted. I went to bed thinking I'd helped you to crash your whole Blogit site rather than put the clock in the sidebar. But you got there, so my instructions must have been OK. It looks smart. I think we should all get one.
Thirdly, you've got the real boycott thing wrong. Probably not your fault - I expect you've been misinformed. The post by Dennison (Hugh Manatee) is pretty clear: he's saying he will not read posts that use the word 'blog' with negative intent. I agree with him on this and have been choosing not to read such blog entries for many months. I go further than him in fact. I avoid posts that have negative intent whatever the headline and I've been so turned off by two of our number - Ariala and Blackcat - that I never read them at all. I don't deny that they have strong writing techniques that appeal to and satisfy many, but their appeal has faded for me.That's my choice as a paying reader here. If they were to expunge the negative intent from their work here, I might be persuaded to read them again, as I once did. [And note this too: I name them, rather than use a vague 'they' or 'this blogger' or 'some bloggers' - this gives them a chance to reply, a courtesy which they do not accord to others when posting scathing attacks.]
But I'm not calling for anyone else not to read them. And neither is Hugh Manatee. In fact HM is boycotting certain posts only. For both of us, though, we agree on one thing very strongly: it's the negative intent that we are boycotting, the dragging down of the atmosphere of Blogit. Many posts that use the word 'blog' or other tricksy methods do not have negative intent and I'll continue to read them and indeed post them. My entire parody blog - The Tower of Babble - uses tricksy headlines in every post, but crucially my intent is positive, not negative. Or let's take Offbeat - I'm sure she won't mind - she uses the word 'blogger' very often, but with no negative intent - she is usually referring to herself as the 'blogger' and is just writing about her life in a positive way. She is not demonizing or insinuating stuff about any other blogger.
Fourthly, your attempt to lighten the issue with humour has been soured by one person. The snipe by Ariala attempts to demonize myself and Hugh Manatee - without naming us - it has negative intent. Blackcat has been demonizing us elsewhere, but doesn't do it here. Perhaps you were misinformed about the nature of the boycott by one of these two.
Lastly, I'm not having a go at you here. My argument is with whoever misinformed you about the so-called 'boycott' - probably Ariala or Blackcat or both of them. What the boycott actually amounts to is fee-paying bloggers choosing not to read negative writing.
Your post is actually very entertaining, as I said in the opening paragraph.

This is a new guy...There must not be any available women in India.
They seem to enjoy my flamboyant personality.

Shelly, I've tried and tried to head over to your blog...
Believe me...there's nothing I'd like better. But there's this guy in India who wants me to marry him - he keeps saying that I am the answer to all his prayers.
Of course, I've attemtped to explain to him that I am not interested in being the love of his life. But we have a serious language barrier, so the IM's have been slow coming.
