Comments on THOSE WHO CITE PROPHECIES CANNOT SHOW WHERE THE PROPHECIES ARE CORRECT

Some prophecies are vaguely enough worded so that people can claim to have seen them fulfilled.

Literature by a Seventh-day Adventist demonstrates this. A pamphlet I received from an apparent member of this sect refers several times to prophecies -- mostly in the book of Revelation -- about a "beast" that will come forth in the form of both religious and secular governments. The "beast" described in Scripture is described vaguely enough that its features could be compared to those of, say, the Roman Empire when taken over by Catholicism.

If this is fulfillment of an admittedly vague prophecy, then it doesn't tell us much. (It's more a way of saying, "Bad things will be done by people claiming to do God's work.")

That's not so much a prophecy as a universal truth.

when are you going to stop kicking against the

goads:

From κεντέω kenteō (to prick); a point ("centre"), that is, a sting (figuratively poison) or goad (figuratively divine impulse): - prick, sting.
