Sunnybeach, since I'm old enough now to struggle with short term memory loss now and then, I am constantly stopping my blogging to knock on my son's door (if he is home) and ask, "What is that word that means.......?" or "What is the name of that man who......?" or "Where is that place we went to with the big.....?"   He always has the appropriate answer on the tip of his tongue so I go running back to my PC and finish my blog posts, thanks to him.

Do you have the code for your clock? I will put it in and send you the template to copy and paste.
Do you want a whole template? Colors?

Sunny, your clock shows up on the right hand side=

I can't get mine to show up over there. Can you email me your template??? I'm not very good at HTML. But if you just copy and paste your template into an email, I can just paste it into mine.

Sunny, You don't have to remove the corn from the cob...
Just blanche it first like I said in my recipe and it will be fine.

To your Mom's

question: you have to remove the corn from the cob before you can freeze it.

Your question: The only advice I ask is from my wife. Like you say if your are not on Blogit you simply will not understand.

Hey, what's this? Looks like I'm in the middle of a conversation between
the blogger and the rest of the commentators here?

posted by Straightforward on September 9, 2006 at 9:48 PM | link to this | reply

Okay, here's the answer to your mom's question....

In my former life, I was a gourmet cook.

  • Take a large Bean Pot and fill it 3/4 full of water.
  •  Bring to a boil and add a teaspoon of salt

While you're waiting for the water to boil:

  • Shuck the corn (I'm assuming it's fresh corn)
  • Wash it
  • Once the water has come to a rolling boil, add the corn
  • Let it come back to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Remove pan from heat. Remove corn from water.
  • When ears of corn have cooled, place them in a large freezer bag and store in freezer

This process is called "blanching" and should be done to any fresh fruit or veggies before placing them in the freezer. The process kills all bacteria, so that you don' t get salmonella from eating them.

It was not MY idea to discuss corn. It was my mother!

posted by Afzal_Sunny7 on September 9, 2006 at 9:39 PM | link to this | reply

I personally DO NOT think it is wise to start talking about CORN...
Do I need to remind you what can happen around here when someone starts discussing CORN???? The whole place goes bananas....

Moon
Thanks, but NO amount of effort on your part will make her allow me to go to India! Or anywhere else for that matter

posted by Afzal_Sunny7 on September 9, 2006 at 9:36 PM | link to this | reply

I'm going to tell her that I am moving in with your family and that Bhaskar will join shortly, along with a few unnamed others. Her other option is to send you to India for a vacation; but, I will be available to speak with her by phone daily. Plus, I'll tell her that the asylum discharged me and won't have me back. So, no use calling them. MoonSpirit
