When I worked at a small-town newspaper
we had an editor with a twisted mind, and he frequently changed the slug line from reporters into a weird or double-meaning bit.  Our JRN professor said in the big city newspapers they keep the headline writers in a dark room and only wake them up five minutes before the drop-deadline so the headlines fit the space requirements and came out of their deep subconscious.  Maybe so...

headlines are important, especially if you want the attention ofnew readers
The body of the work has to follow suit though and deliver the juicy promise of the
heading. Otherwise, the reader will feel cheated or insulted. I have used innuendos myself, it can be fun, yes it is a cheap way to get people's attention but oh well why not.  Your "let us talk our clothes off" heading was a bit over the top I thought, but hey never mind. No harm done, you can get away with that on a bloggit site, probably not in real life though...Your posts are being read anyway by many so no need to "reel" them in, with juicy bait, plenty more fish in the sea! ha ha....

For me, writing the headline is always the hardest part. I usually take a phrase from the body and convert it. On most occasions, I refuse to use the easy buzz words like blogger or Blogit unless the entire post is legitimately devoted to the subject. I don't focus as much on the headline to draw readers as I should. I rely primarily on name-brand recognition. Those who are familiar with my work will click regardless. I use this method most of all when reading.
