Avant,

Today you remind me of why I stopped running. Life for me is made up of moments and as a runner I missed many of those.

I've been visiting my favorites today and didn't want to miss you. I'll be leaving Blogit after my post today and one more. Thanks for all that you have shared and continue to share here. Blessings...

The 'nothing' I speak of is everything, and is complete in and of itself. I, too, often dig myself into a trench in order to distance myself enough to examine it. I think that's perfectly natural.

Thanks for the input. It seems so pointless on one hand, all this rushing about trying to obtain things. But, on the other hand, it does demonstrate very clearly that having does not change things, either.

I think you are right. Nothing is hidden from God. The veils are part of the process of discovery.

Avant-Garde,
Even if nothing is as it seems, is there nothing at the core?  Sometimes running is the only way to stay alive, to put time and distance between the past and the present.  It's good to get to a place of peace, and examine oneself.

Your last line threw me for a curve...otherwise, we run, return, re-run as
needs and circumstances impinge upon us. I agree: nothing is wasted or useless from human experiences...so whether we choose to run or not, it really does not matter. It matters if matter is what matters to us--materialism, that is. Otherwise one can stroll, while others run....the rat race. Shalom

Huh?

"The future does not exist, but to serve as a reason to remain in the quagmire of indecision." Quagmire of indecision.  Hmmmmm, this is too deep for me, I think.  That said, a previous phrase makes a whole lot more sense, i.e.: "Nothing in life is wasted, if seen for what purpose it serves."

And I would say that all of live has value, life has a meaning and purpose, our future is to some degree shaped by our past . . . and none of it is hidden from God.

I've read that God is hidden in veils, oftentimes in ugly, unpalatable ones. It is up to us to lift it and look what lies beneath.

It seems the only value it has is that which is ascribed onto it upon reflection.

You know what I say? I say "Keep running. " I think when we stop to catch our breath,  that's when our mind starts to get in the way of what you were doing naturally, running.  Don't think - just do it.  So run and see where life leads you.  We can only see ahead to the next bend in the path.

So well put! The future only serves to fuel the flames of worry and doubt. All that matters is here and now!

avant--
great post once again! and to your "nothing in life is wasted" line, I would like to suggest that nothing in life is wasted even if we DON'T see or know the purpose...we must believe that there was one...
