Thanks guys!!

Word. I keep the junk right out in the open.  Whenever I see those "hording" shows on like Dateline I think to myself "I'm not that bad.....yet."  It is comforting to actually see people who have the same problem.  I'd love to join a support group but I don't know of any in my area-guess I could start one.

My husband has so improved over this past year.  He no longer gets depressed at my situation.  I attribute this to his working nights so he's so dead tired during the day he can't worry about my lack of organization.  I tell him "one day"  and I truly believe "one day" I'll conqure this problem.

I know all about that disorder...

where you keep stuff you haven't used in years, but can't bear to throw them away.  You see, I have that problem myself.

Dial up? What's that?

Do you live in the USA?

That makes a difference with your ISP. If you do, then there are many good choices- I'm using SBC Global or Yahoo. Not sure, but I don't think they're the same anymore.

My laptop has wi-fi and my service from SBC is only ten bucks per month. So I can usually 'steal' a signal from someone or if I'm in a hotel, you can get their service for free.

Though I do PAY for a dial up connection, I rarely use it. I mostly use the wi-fi and connect using cable or broadband.

New computers are not very expensive anymore - you can get something really great from Walmart or Best Buy for about $500 bucks. Of course it will have a Celeron processor but that will simply mean it processes things a bit slower.

If you'll get some boxes and label them, 'TRASH", "GARAGE SALE", "SALVATION ARMY" etc. then it will make sorting thru old stuff much easier. I have found that the hardest part is getting started. Once you get going on the project, it will go much smoother and be over with before you know it.

Good luck.
