My ex-husband and I always had that very same argument.
I spend half the year in my car driving thru destroyed neighborhoods but he doesnt think I can get down to the post office without his help.
Tell you what...I'll hold them both down and you slap the shit out of them. I KNOW that will make us feel better.

one time my barely significant other was peppering me with suggestions
so much that i whipped the car over to the curb and parked. his eyes went wide.
"what are you doing?"
"letting you drive." he started laughing.
"I thought you were going to kick me out of the car!" not like i didn't think about it.
