because it's not going to happen
and all this foolishness about it going to happen has ruined thousands of lives already and been a bitter disappointment already to many.
the message of the New Testament is the here and now, for that is all there really is.

Why do you assume that Christians are ruining their lives
by being aware of and watching for the rapture? And where is the hysteria? Sure, you've got some fringe elements who are out there . . . on the fringe -- selling all and awaiting God's return on a very specific day -- but most of us are loving life and living it fully and interacting with everyone around and etc. Xenox you make judgments that are so off base it's ridiculous. I'm always peeved when, in a fit of weakness I click on your blog. It's pretty much always a disappointment.

Xeno-x - this particular "hysteria" - because that is all it really is
bothers me:
The idea of sharing this planet with folks that don't give a darn about solving today's problems because of some contrived fantasy is not very appealing. This rapture nonsense is nothing more than a cop out to give up on life. The "pre trib" movement, or those who believe that we are in pre tribulation times are doing the rest of society a great disservice with this stupidity.
