So true. The cause appears as the effect.

Avant
Whatever we percieve, be it love, hatred, anger, fear - all are our internal minds projected first and later we see them as perceptions; and we believe that the second as first.

I presume that you ask what a koan is, rather than what part of my post contained the koan. I had intended on doing koans every post, but I soon wearied of it. A koan is a question that implies a searching of truth amid the appearance of reality. It is an Eastern tradition that spurs contemplative thought.

I do think there are no 'chosen ones.' It's all fantasy about the wish to be special.

I don't know. This was many years ago, and I haven't been back that way since.

I would almost call this type of thinking 'delusional'. I've tried reasoning with these types of people, and they are oblivious to everything, save for their own committment to unreality.

Yes. We are capable of grasping truth, whether it be of our own making or not.

Avant, is there any human mind that can say it understand the awe, the mystery, the grandeur of Creation and the One who created it? Mind can't. MoonSpirit

I take your message: accept defeat because it is a kind of victory anyway

But too much "ego" is invested in being right, being the "cosen" ones, the elect of God---for humans to say calmly and in awe of God's ways--"I was wrong, but I want to do better." shalom

avant-..was this a cult that eventually folded their tents and left?
or are they still around (just curious as to what happened)?

Eerie, Avant-Garde, as though you stumbled onto Jim Jones' cult
after they drank the Kool-aid.  The merciless do despise servility. It's why they must be stood up to.
