- Go to BUY A HOUSE IN SPAIN, YOU DUNNO WHAT YOU'LL ENCOUNTER. FINAL PART
ariel,
I love the ending, the object's cunning and power prevailing over mere mortals...
Like you apparently, I was also fond of Victor Meldrew, by the way. Unfortunately he has disappeared from the tube, and I certainly hope not because of the other foot having joined the first...

Hey
You ever see the Japanese movie where the couple live in the sand pit and constantly have to shovel out sand all day? They eventually became addicted to living with each other and didn't want to leave the sandpit house. Reminds me of the chairs. If you tried using that "American" accent here I think it would be good for a double-take.

I have to catch up with this story after my trip.
I'll probably do that a bit later this evening. Just stopping in to say hello.

Hmm ... I'm always a bit chary of that sort of remark, you know. Anyway, old chap, I hope you've chaired up a bit since they turned you loose upon a cringing world once more.
With a bit of luck ( and your customary chutzpah, or what the Spanish call chispa { or is it chairspa } ) you might even become chair of the Fugitive Flasher Society ( Northern Branch. )
Have you heard the one about the flasher in the depths of the worst winter in living memory? He was standing in the park, describing himself.
Cool beaners, eh?

Entirely a figment of my imagination, my dear.
For " american accent" think James Cagney or Humphrey Bogart. Or better yet, any thick Brooklyn accent.

Somebody wanted them to have those chairs. Or did you make it all up? An entertaining episode but I wonder what is meant by "American accent".

Though I didn't get to read this story before today, as usual, you had me seeing the scenes in my mind. What a talent you have!
