I could easily subtract 30 lbs from my actual weight and get away with it... but I don't. Saying my true weight makes me deal with it.,

editormum,
If you are exercising that much, there must be quite a few pounds of muscle which weigh more than fat. Even though more weight loss would be desireable, I'm thinking that that's the reason people may be so doubtful that you need to lose that much weight. I, too, weigh far more than I should and it's been a battle to keep from being much more heavy. I have found that I have low thyroid and that's being taken care of with medication but the weight doesn't magically drop off. My doctor says that he thinks my chronic fatigue is more the culprit than anything.
The Atkins diet did help me lose some weight at the start and I was walking two miles a day. I felt a lot better but, when My dad came to live with us before he died, I was stressed out and extremely busy, and not sleeping. I didn't have the time or energy to go walking, which is something I love to do. Then, after his death, I was feeling physically awful, myself, and it took quite a while and a couple of doctors to get me past that. I hadn't been walking during all that time and then the heat wave of 100 plus degrees each day set upon us. It has just turned cooler and I am thinking that now is the time to get started walking again. One thing for sure, whether I lose weight or not, when I stay true to the Atkins diet, I feel better.
Good luck with you weight loss.
