I think they have a built in radar that tells them when humans have no immediate response. Let's face it, the fly swatter doesn't work on them anymore. Their too fast! Hope all is well and I recommend you invest in an mask...Toxins every where!

I'm glad to know that Ernesto didn't have a huge impact and yep, swamplands do breed all sorts of interesting creatures,  mosquitos being chief among them.

Thanks Blanche...
These days mosquitos seem to hatch at the smell of rain and by the time we actually have rain, they invade our homes in their numbers.

Ugh!!!  I hate mosquitoes.  Almost makes you wish for strong wind and heacy rain, huh? Almost.

Oh the torture, I know........
We have mosquitoes tropical storms or no. They come with living in what is basically glorified swampland - Florida, no?

Word.smith, mosquitoes, one of the side effects of Ernesto I would never
have thought about, another myriad detail of an experience that only someone who was actually in the situation would know firsthand.  Annoying, too, I'm sure. Nice to see you back after your hiatus.
