yes, Dave

from the Web sites I've seen this has been duplicated all over the world.  They have MTV's "Real World" all over as well.  I've seen clips, but I've wondered how different they are.

One of the Brittish guys said the main difference when they went to London was that the drama toned down dramatically.  Things didn't play out quite as publicly as they do in the states.

BTW, I fell on you blog when I was here originally about 8 months ago.  Then I left for a bit.  When I came back, the first posts I was seeing was about you being in jail.  I have not had a chance to go back to the start of that.  At first I thought you were just messing around with the readers.  Can you give me a good date to go back to blog wise to see where that whole saga began.  The bits I saw were a riot (insofar as a guy being in stir could be).

Ours finished a couple of weeks ago. We call it 'Eviction Night' when they
get binned. No doubt, it's the exact same format.

I think there is a better shot on Survivor

There's a lot more to do with mental and physical endurance and the way they contribute to the day to day life.  No in the Big Brother House gives a hoot if George cleans that house or not.  It doesn't sustain them.

I really think Jason is the only one I can think of on Big Brother who went that far without being a liar.  Will, for heaven's sake, almost proves the point, as does Boogie.  It's an art form.  Even Kaysar was playing it over the lying edge this time around...I don't care what he's saying now, but he screwed around with James and Janelle early on.

yes I think it's possible to win without lying,
but certainly not as easy. There have been a few winners on Survivor who were (basically) honest.

I tend to read recaps
I will read recaps of the show. I find I have missed a lot of the nuance of things. But then, there does seem to be a touch of Kremlinoligy to they way people break down these shows. I don't watch big brother, so you provide all I know about it.

Do you think you can play the game the entire way through---and win-

while telling the truth?  The only one I saw was Josh or Jason (forgetting his name).  He was in the season with Roddy when Cheryl Crow visited.  He's some sort of Christian singer.  He really stayed genuinely honest.  He lost, but because of the last challenge, not because of strategy.  I was pretty impressed with his behavior.

My mom gets so aggravated with me talking about these shows.  She thinks absolutely all of them are staged.  I really don't.  I think the editing colors how much of it looks, but there comes a point when being cooped up with a bunch of people you may or may not like would just put you over the edge.

I'd rather not watch the feeds or read about what happened first because then it's like, why watch? Big Brother is an interesting social experiment. I've always marveled at the contestants' ability to justify "lying, cheating, backstabbing" etc. because it's "just a game." Since when did playing a game become a license to lose ones morals?
