Bel,
According to the current predictions, you might be spending much of Thursday at the airport due to delays but your vacation should be fine. Where in Florida are you going?

Can you get some things that aren't perishable so they are there for when and if you need them. Ie like bottled water, tinned food or batteries. What kind of supplies do you generally need?

WritersBlok...tell that to the 1 million people on the Gulf Coast
Who lost everything they owned including their pets last year.
I hear the stories over and over from my applicants. 9 times out of 10, their losses could have been minimized if they'd been paying attention.

Thanks, sarooster!
I am hoping it will stay downgraded even though the experts are saying otherwise.

Blok,
Just keeping watching with a wary eye. The storm has just been downgraded and maybe it will say that way. The conditions are favorable for it to continue to gain strength when it can get over some open water. So you have to be ready. I don't think this will build into a big ultra-storm, but it may get big enough to cause some damage. So be careful and stay on top of things. You can always come to my house in San Antonio.

Thanks, Passion.
I agree preparation is key but I don't know if it is too early to go buy supplies because Charlie was on a similar path that changed last minute.

I would think that if you lived along the coast of Florida--
You would be watching the Weather Channel DAILY this time of year. Alot of people could have been spared alot of grief if they'd been paying attention and watching Katrina.
There was plenty of time to get your stuff and leave between the time she made landfall in Miami, moved out into the Gulf and started her journey toward LA and Miss.
You dont have to be caught off guard. You don't have to be afraid. But you do need to pay attention and prepare.
Ernesto will most likely make landfall around the Tampa area on Thursday afternoon.
