The problem I find with the media overkill on the JonBenet story is that it
sidelines way to many important or marginally important topics.  Yes, it's interesting, but it doesn't deserve the thousands of hours of media exposure it has gotten over the years, nor the media onslaught of the tube that it has become since the Karr confession.  There are far more important topics and issues.  Spending so much time on this one story relegates too many newsworthy items as barely mentioned or relegated to no-show status.  Just as they've done with O.J., Scott Peterson, Michael Jackson, and Natalie Holloway, the media has created its own gravitating force, a black hole of useless information for the morbidly curious -- and one that works, albeit to the disappointment of people such as myself who enjoy hearing about what is going on in Timbuktuu and Bogota.

thought news television was about news. And if you wanted to go for music
or films , that's on other channels?

And, as you can see, SunnyBeach and SuccessWarrior, you're not missing
much more than one story anyway.  LOL.  My television viewing increases during football season as well, SuccessWarrior.

I don't watch TV either.
It's easy to screen the case out that way.  My not watching TV is going to change in a couple of weeks when the football season starts.  =)
