Bel...The Red Cross made some major changes
That should help them respond much more quickly and efficiently. Actually, the Red Cross did an excellent job of feeding us last year. If it hadn't been for them, many of us would have gone hungry and thirsty.
FEMA did provide some very decent housing for us in New Orleans...also meals. A guy did die though who was sleeping in his car because the tents were so cold at night. That story NEVER made the newspapers and never will.
Though FEMA SAYS it re-vamped its programs and worked out the bugs, I'll be surprised if things go any differently this year than they ever do. There's still NO way to make sure the applicant uses the money they get for home repairs.
They can take it and go on vacation, buy a car, or a flat-screen TV and no one's the wiser. And typically, that's exactly where the money goes. Your tax dollars at work! LOL

My husband took me to Taco Bell for lunch and I came home and had a two-hour nap. Then it was time to think about making dinner, then dishes, then computer time, then tv time, and then bedtime. Amazing day, hey?

Passion...today was "One on one" day with my boss...all went well, so
next step is my annual review which will hopefully also go well..and include a raise (never guaranteed when you're working for a non profit organization)...pretty quiet day, actually (worked alone tonight)..

Guess what?
I took the day off and played with my one year old daughter... We
watched stupid muppet movies and barbie.. we played in the clothes and
got ate up by fire ants. It felt so good to take a day off and to top
it off I got much needed one on one time with my little girl...... Oh,
she learned how to say "I love you" and she likes me to put her shoes
on and take them off.... and put them on.,.. and take them off.....
and.. well, you get the idea! Greatest day in a long damn time!!!
