I understand what you are saying, but i am not going to fret over this. It is interesting, never really thought about it before. None of us speak proper English, you got a job for life here! As long as we can avoid major misunderstandings I don't think mistakes matter too much, but in the diplomatic world, one wrong word and it can set off an international crisis. The more you know someone, the less you need to rely on words, but I would not vouch on it either. You are a dedicate guardian of the English language, nothing wrong with that! We need geeks like you, to shake our blissful ignorance and torpitude..... bla bla bla bla....
