Dylan...
...it's been clear for some time now that the occupying forces are making the situation in Iraq incalculably worse by their very presence.

Even the Brits, who took good care of Basra by being everything the American forces weren't - civil, polite, friendly, flexible - are losing their grip there because of rising hostility.

And - let's face it - if the US or the UK was to be occupied by a foreign power, you and i would be less than happy, too!

Cheers!

If Mr. Schwartz is right, that would mean that a U.S. withdrawal would be good not only for the U.S. but for Iraq as well.

The standard line in defense of continuing the U.S. occupation -- from those who opposed the war but think we have to finish what we started -- is that the Iraqis cannot defend their country on their own. That may still be true. But evidently, neither can we. So withdrawal would be, at worst, the lesser evil.

very good
some of this should be obvious to people, but seems they turn their faces toward the Bush line, which is a total coverup.

this has continually reminded me of  Orwell's 1984, where the government controls the information received.

not quite, or else we'd not have such a disgruntlement among the U.S. populace.

If all this information were to become widespread, Bush's support would fall to less than 5% (that hardcore group that believes no matter what).
