MarieClaire, My knowledge of French is limited to things like, Qui a coupé le fromage?   My friend in Phoenix tried to teach me enough to make do when we went to Paris but he ended up being my interpretor.

troosha. I agree with you, Krishnamurti has a point and I think too, that
it is important to quieten the constant chatter of the mind, but I explored his teaching in depth, and discovered its limits, as you say you pick snippets and leave the rest, but I saw the damage his philosophy did on people, wise people like you know better and are safe. The real devotees of his philosophy have been misled I feel. What gets me is that most philosopher only grasp one aspect of the truth, they have never completely right. The only book that speaks the truth to me is the Bible, and even then people distort it to use to their advantage. Yes I agree, you cannot hear from God unless the mind is quiet, that's why God speaks to people when they are in the shower or doing nothing in particular, when the mind is quiet. God sometimes speaks to me in my dreams, that way he gets my attention...

taps! it is so long since I heard this expression! makes me laugh!
should I take this as a compliment? I am impressed that you should know such things! not many people would know that. Don't tell me  you speak fluent
French and I never knew....

marieclaire, It seems to me that for you writing poetry is doigts dans le nez.

Marieclaire

Yes.... writing everyday (be it profound, sad, cheerful, or playful) I think is important to keep the juices flowing.

Thank you for your comments on Krishamurti.  I agree that we are not put on this earth to “sit like a duck” but rather to absorb what’s around us like a sponge and to share with the world the wisdom(s) each of us may possess or acquire along the way.  I appreciated the quote in isolotation not necessarily as part of the entire teachings of Krishamurti’s. I’m, am often fueled by a snippet from one philosopher, a gem from another, but for the most part I like to think I’m driven by the force of God.  What struck me about yesterday’s quote (and I still believe it to be true) is that unless we sometimes silence ourselves and our mind, we cannot hear or be guided by the bigger messages out there in the Universe. In that context, I think Krishamurti was on the mark.

I write everyday too. Whether I have something to say or not.
