The Nazi V1 flying bombs were really scary. The bomb's staccato engine died away, and there was a long silence before it hit. Someone. Somewhere. You were lucky it wasn't you. this time.

If ever proof were needed that time is flexible, proof lay in that space between the engine cutting out and the explosion. 30 seconds? A minute? two? It was eternity.
