That just tickled me so! You were singing like no one could hear you and then sang for all it's worth. That song makes one feel so totally loved and cared for. I have the Mahalia Jackson version on my iTunes. Think I'lllisten to it before I turn in (I slept in the chair; I took Ambien and it kicked in while I was still at the computer. . .bad bad bad...

The feeling kept me awake most of the night and I repeated it yet tonight! (sleeping in my chair). I have things to do, blogs to read, comments to write, comments to answer. But for a while, I WAS free!

It is heavenly to feel free. Birds are very symbolic of that freedom.

CeeMarie, What a wonderful post. I love that song and yet I have not heard it for quite some time. With the lyrics in front of me, I looked around to make no one was outside my open window (for I have such a scratchy old-lady voice) and then I belted it out, a capella and all. How fun. I didn't want to stop. Thank you for that.
