Thank you all! I used to eat bluegills. they were fine as long as you
fillet them but they had to be pretty good size. However, now they are infested with liver flukes (little black spots in the meat) and I wont mess with them. Like I have time anyway!

These are all good!
Good luck, Dave. Blue gills we always throw back (too bony). Your vista of dead trees reminds me of the day.....

Catch and release my friend! And remember, most of the disciples were
fishermen! I don't think God is opposed to a wet line occasionally.

That confirms it. Thanks Dave.Pumpkinseed fish are pretty when of good size
It was oneof the hardest hobbies to give up for world peace and nonviolence--fishoing. But as I said, I condemn no one. Sometimes, the good Samaritan surprises us when his good deeds meets favor with Jesus. So I have no idea what is the BEST thing to do....just do the least harm, and follow the Good Book

Hey Ypun! What's going on? Sunfish is a generic term for this type of fish.
Another term is panfish, referring to the way you fix them to eat them. Fry them in a frying pan. A bluegill is a sunfish, so is a green, a pumpkinseed and hybrid. There are also several varieties of ocean sunfish. Good eating.

That's a good size Bluegill in the kid's hand. Who taught her to
F_I_S_H...the same person who taught her "GO FISH"? I sent you some birdies Dave....it may sing in your ear tonight.
BTW, are bluegills different than sunfish? I used to have a CICHLID in my aquarium. It grew and grew---and finally popped when I was away in Africa (I was told). But it was a smart one: picked pebbles in its mouth and rearranged its scenery inside the fish tank!
