LostInLife,
I agree that there are some things that cannot be shared even with our nearest and dearest, but I've found that there's a lot of stress when I keep everything to myself.  We all need to use our wisdom to decide when sharing a problem will help to lessen the burdens we carry.

Silver, he sees to be doing better.
I hope the medication will take care of his problems.

that's a good question...
and at one time I crossed that line and now since I found writing, my insane thoughts get out. And at least here, I think, no one knows who I am and therefore I am sharing but yet I'm not sharing with the folks that I have to see each day. But if it weren't for here....... I guess then my answer is yes, sharing helps, but one can't just share everything with someone familiar. As hard as that is for the ones closest to us to take - even me..

sounds like something organic, rather than problems not shared.  I think he's in for a rough time of it.  Here's to finding the right medication for him quickly, and keeping him on it.  My prayers go out to his family.

BlackPearl,
He's got 21 days off, so hopefully the time and medication will do their work.

I haven't spoken to his wife today,
but I am hoping that he keeps on the medication, which is certain to bring him back to reality.

Smartdog,
I too am hoping and praying  for the best for both himself and his family.  He is now taking his medication, but he refuses to go back home - I'm guessing because he associates home with the abnormalities he was experiencing.

Wow, word.smith,
What a scary situation.  I'm sure it's really tough on his family.  I hope he gets the help he needs and makes a full recovery.

But then, word.  He probably didn't know he had a problem.  As far as he was concerned, reality was him being chased by gunmen.

I'm sorry to hear of this - for everyone involved.  I've had my struggles with the mind, but never that bad.  Sometimes it truly does seem that there are no choices other than the ones your imagination brings upon you.  It's just a matter of finding a crack in his psychosis (if that is right) and leading him out the way you got in; which can be much easier said than done.

I hope everything turns out well.

Taps, he has got medication,
however, his wife is concerned as to how she's gonna get him to take them since he has declared that he won't.  Hopefully, resting  will help him somewhat.

Word.smith, Sharing a problem is good but sometimes it is just not enough.  I am glad that he is seeing a doctor.  It sounds as if he needs special treatment or medication.   His wife though is fortunate that you are a caring and sharing person.  I'm sure that is a big help to her.
