just thinking
You can be ready for the worst, but never eager for the worst, eager has very positive enthusiastic connotation, whereas ready is not necessarily an emotional response, but more of a conscious decision, something of the mind.

Jen--- For me, "eager" is more about a physical/emotional feeling, while
"ready" reflects a mental attitude.Yes, I'd say that "eager" probably precedes "ready." But what do I know? I'm ready for the couch.

Hmmmm
I'm wondering about the nuances in the words "ready" and "eager" and
what they may imply. "Eager" could perhaps indicate "getting
ready for?" Does "eager" precede "ready?"
In any case, I have a nice comfortable couch in my office......tell me about your mother......

Passion--- Check out those old issues of Playgirl. You'll find me as one of
the centerfolds. But, drat, I just can't remember which one it was.

Jen--- Just noticed in my response to you that I said that I'm "ready,"
when I intended to continue the game by saying I'm "eager." Freudian slip perhaps?

Marie-Claire --- (Smile) Yes, I know that you "know stuff." But since
English is your second language and you might not be familiar with the American version, I didn't know if you knew this particular "stuff."

Marie-Claire--- I'm glad that you did. "Eager" is such a great word, don't
you think? To me, it sounds so much more positive than "anxious." Are you familiar with the term "eager beaver"?
"Anxious beaver" doesn't sound nearly so good.
