Death is a celebration of one's life, shellyb.
And as a natural function, death is not morbid at all.  My take on death is that it is a portal we will all pass through and we may as well be prepared for it and leave this life with the same gusto, humor and enthusiasm as we lived it.

Death should be a happy event unless the death is one of a child or one who was for some reason "not ready" to go, or the victim of a crime, etc.  But natural death is a cause for celebration, happiness, remembrance and honoring the deceased.  Morbid, no.  Celebrate, si!

WHY would you want to do that?? That would be awful!
Having a dinner to honor your death before you die?  How morbid!

I see your point, shellyb.
How about my alternative idea of having the rehearsal while the person is stil alive, even before he is near dying?

archiew...you have a family that grieving...
why put more stress on them...a funeral is low key so a family can grieve in peace, without the stress.

Why, shellyb. ?
I'd be interested in hearing your reasons.  We have got to do things to put the Fun in Funeral!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting, shellyb.
