MandaLee, there is an attachment to the bill that wasn't mentioned in this

article, regarding "tipped employees".  In 7 states, including Washington, where I live, employees who make money off tips, waitreses, waiters, bartenders, etc. are allowed to make the minimum wage and keep their tips. 

This bill would allow employers to pay their employees $2.13 an hour and make up the difference in tips. In some cases, that would mean for a waitress that makes $35,000 (in the summer tourist season if she's lucky), would lose $900 a month.  A lot of people couldn't make it.

As usual, there is more than meets the eye to most bills.

MandaLee, Our Senate seems to be as confused as those
are leading us in the war in Iraq.   We are truly facing perilous times!
