Mademoiselle--- I'd lean toward agreeing with the writer. But I wouldn't
argue with Elaine. She hits.

It's like in "Seinfeld", when Elaine and that writer are in the elevator:
ELAINE: No, no.. but it is quite a coincidence.
RAVA: Yes, that's all, a coincidence!
ELAINE: A big coincidence.
RAVA: Not a big coincidence. A coincidence!
ELAINE: No, that's a big coincidence.
RAVA: That's what a coincidence is! There are no small coincidences and big coincidences!
ELAINE: No, there are degrees of coincidences.
RAVA: No, there are only coincidences! ..Ask anyone! (Enraged, she asks everone in the elevator) Are there big coincidences and small coincidences, or just coincidences? (Silent) ..Well?! Well?!...

Julia--- I think that you are correct. But that's not what it means.

haha, ya got me.
I've seen that phrase a lot, never really thought it wasn't correct. The "most one-of-a-kind," lol. I think we often associate unique with meaning "unusual."
