I didn't know pelicans visited this river. It was a pleasure to stumble upon them.

There was the Hale-Bopp comet across the sky at the time, which I ommitted because of verbosity. I've heard that too much descriptions become tiresome. Thanks again for reading and commenting.

Well, actually this was at a river in Northwest Louisiana. But, thank you for the kind words.

That was completely unexpected, which is why it was so great. Thank you for reading.

The last time I saw a pelican
was at Avery Island (where they make Tabasco) in Louisiana. I was 14.

My blog used to be called "Under A Moody Sky" for that same reason, Avant
A lot of people grouse about the weather in the Northwest, but to me, it's almost always good, and the sky is a constantly shifting kaleidoscope of lights and clouds. I love your description of it.

I have really enjoyed reading your stories the direction your writing is going. Very visual and soft like a sunrise. I like it a lot! I love the coastline.

Lovely. Felt like I was there. The sunsets on Derwentwater are stunning
when we're up in Keswick, but we only have ducks and geese. And one swan who seems to have disappeared lately.

No, but I have scared birds out of our trees with clapping. I would love to see an egress of bats. Maybe some day. The closest I came was a cavern outside of San Antonio. We were going to return at nightfall, but we were just too tired.

Have you been hanging around my backyard scaring the birds out of the tree?
Or maybe watching the bats leave at sunset from Carlsbad Caverens? Awesome isn't it?

A-G, I am an admirer of the fluency and lucidity of words with which you not only paint, but create an atmosphere too. Good Writing!

Avant-Garde, I've never seen pelicans live, only photos,
but I love your description. I've played with desciptions of sunset for qutie a while, and that one is so poetic.

avant garde,
I love to watch Pelicans! I don't get to do it often, living in the middle of the U.S.A., but reading your post certainly lets me see them again perfectly.
