A Meditative Experiment

This was interesting (and rather pleasant) as a meditative experiment. I have to say that, as a Christian, my prayer life is focused on the person of Christ and on Mary, the angels and the saints. The notion of a meditative technique is not something that I emphasize so much as immersion in the love and goodness of God.

That having been said, I suspect that some techniques may aid certain types of prayer, particularly prayer of the more contemplative nature. Again, I would not so much emphasize the technique so much as I would use the technique as a tool to aid my contemplative prayer which is focused on the body and blood -- life and passion -- words and wisdom of Christ.

As I said, I found this experiment in your post calming and pleasant. It enabled me to enter into a rhythm of breathing and may have contributed to greater clarity of mind. I will try this exercise again, under other circumstances and coupled with other prayer activities, in order to fully explore its utility.

Thanks for sharing it in your post.
