Bel, this is a good thing for everyone to know, especially here in MO. There are so many deer and deer ticks here that you cannot go into the woods without them dropping onto you from the trees or see them crawling in the grass and weeds.

My boss's children had terrible complications due to lyme disease...
including seizures. The key is to get a double dose of serious antibiotics immediately after being bit by an infected tick. Don't ever take no for an answer from the doctor... and trust me, they'll try to make you wait. Oh, and bring that tick with you to the doctor's office to be tested.
