DECISION: WINNERS of orchid haiku--SWFTFOX, MARIECLAIRE66 & shypettite
Mysteria's crystal clear support is no mystery; but we encourage her to try her hand at haiku, or bonsai. LOL
But the three winners do enough work here to be called WINNERS and, these pics and poems help all the vistors smile (the first smiles of the day, only because they come here so oooearly). Shalom & gratitude

Shypetite, Mysteria, Marieclaire &SWFTFOX-thanks a bunch. Bonsai accepted
I hope you are ready--I have a pic ready to accompany the bonsai haiku. Here's testing ONE< TWO< THREE....
Aug '96
(l) Ficus, retusa probably, living in the above 1" pot since Nov '94., going on two years now.
(r) Serissa (species?), cascade and working on it, in above pot since winter 95-96.
Wicks running from their drainage holes, laying in a tray of water
below, keep them alive during my long day in the world.

darn missed you again! I know, winning is not everything, it is the only
thing! as one of my little Korean student put it. The little brothe came up with a good one yesterday, he said that FBI stood for Female Body Investigation, might be a job for you. The kid is only 9 but he sure comes up with some good ones!
I rattled my brain for those haikus, even fasted prayed, you name it so that I could just win! So don't disappoint me, my life depends on it... not.

perhaps I will try one more time...
exotic species
live in humble tree house
orchids surprise us
shallow roots but such
deep colour intricate life
drawn on each petal
bark and branches feed
your beauty bring colours on
orchid rosy cheeks
neglected orchids
sits under tree waiting to
be seen and brought home
in bark or vase sits
lonely orchid stunning colours
admirers' delight
orchid a simple
gift of colour and splendour
in simple petals
I got to beat you guys, I should get a brownie point for sheer quantity and effort. Tries hard but could do better???
Don't know how to download pics but you all do it so well anyway.

I COULDN'T TELL YOU, MYSELF. BUT I DON'T THINK ORCHIDS GROW THERE.
Your senyru was lovely but a bit bizarre. The haiku was nice but had a million syllables in the last line! I'm just saying, you know, no big deal, but, well, whatever! hahaha On an educational note, there are about 30,000 authentic breeds of orchids and there are about 120,000 hybrid breeds, so I didn't really try to get a pic of each one. Sorry for slacking! hahaha
BLOSSOMING ORCHIDS, TRANSCENDENTAL BEAUTY
individualist
comparing to no other
orchid stands alone
delicate beauty
undeniable mystique
magical orchid

high school prom lapel
wedding bouquet center piece
exquisite orchid
distinctive orchid
infinite varieties
dazzling the eye

sending runners out
orchid dominates the woods
aggressive beauty
gentle spring shower
tendril snaking through decay
orchid’s flowered crown

tendril grasping tree
resplendent in slow conquest
orchid procreates
regal flower crowns
gracing spacious forest halls
imperial orchid

tears coming to eyes
gift box opened carefully
orchid for the dance
orchidaceous plant
stunning multi-colored hat
treasure to the eye

colorful orchid
aesthetic magnificence
fine jungle carpet
freshly picked orchid
grace hula girls’ raven hair
exotic beauties

Dave Cryer asked for guesses for his flower-YES, he owns the fields. Not!
But perhaps it is an orchid, dave et al?
