Only blogging can keep me from my coffee, Offfbeats, I fight one addiction
with another. Maybe they balance each other out, who knows?

Yum! Fried Green tomatoes...Gorgeous Garden!!!

Woo! I love fresh veggies. I begged Richard to take me to the big Produce Market in Dallas. But it's so huge, crowded and hot these days, he hates to go out there but they've got some of the very best squash, watermelon, cantaloupe...

I could live on that stuff.

Mmm, chocolate, which reminds me it's 1 pm here, and it's starting to get
warm. I need to run up the street for my daily iced Americano and journal session.  I'll catch you later. Thanks for everything.

Now you have me pouting that my tomatoes aren't ready yet.  What did your grandma do with canned green tomatoes??

Yum, I remember how sweet they are! I used to take a salt shaker down to
the garden with me.  I think I'll just put out some tomatoes in pots, the wind kicks up too much to put up hanging baskets, although, I like the idea.  I just put out some towels and pants to dry, I have to watch that they don't blow away!

It seems to me they now have hanging tomato and strawberry plants, that would work nicely for a balcony area.

There is NOTHING like picking the tomato off the plant and eating it where you stand!

The sunflower is my ever returning sunflower.  I planted a batch years ago for the birds and now every year just one comes back.  It's normally loaded with flowers and always brings my birds back.

I love snap peas!!!

Bel, that reminds me to buy a tomato plant for my balcony, the heat just

killed off my lobelia and other flowers.  I remember growing up and picking tomatores out of my grandmother's garden, there is nothing like a fresh, homegrown tomator.  The store bought ones can't even compare.  She'd can hers, too, even the green ones.

Yep, life is good.  My class finishes next week, it's brought up some intense stuff, stuff I don't even feel like writing about, but having the support to deal with it, makes all the difference. Like James and Pam know they have you and Carl and that makes all the difference in their world, I'm sure.

Nice writing here, a piece of your world.

There use to be a farm near my house in South Florida.....I use to help shell peas  Those were some of the good memories of my childhood. I still remember what it felt like sitting out on the porch with those wooden bushel things.......shelling and snapping peas....chit chatting with the grown ups and trying to listen in on all of the local gossip.....which back then was nothing exciting. Also....loved the picture of your sunflowers....those are in your yard? Sunflowers are so uplifting and beautiful. Thanks for sharing. O.K.....don't hurt Carl with the turkey baster.
