That is an interesting way of looking at it.  I admit I love American Idol LOL!  But I  like the auditions better than the actual competition.  I fnid human nature fascinating and I love to simply observe!!!

This is why I don't watch those so-called reality shows,
except for the ones that are essentially talent contests.  Putting a group of human rats into a producer's maze and getting them to turn on one another is something for psychiatrists. Next they're going to broadcast executions. Why not?  In the old days we held public hangings...

I agree, it has to be at least partially scripted.

you've got to wonder to some degree how much of this is scripted.

it's one thing to go experience someone else's life but it's the rare person, meat-eater or not, that would be so clueless to the price of food that they would throw food away, regardless of the content.  anyone trying to make a point could easily say, "i'm here for one more week. the meat stays in the freezer, this week we're doing vegan."

but that wouldn't get the same ratings, would it?

I do think that learning about the way others live and why they believe the things they believe could be a very healthy way of learning that there is more than one side to anything.  What troubles me is the way both sides are allowed to FORCE their very core beliefs on another.   let's face it, I am married to a man that hunts, I have witnessed the poverty that the people in his area live in...I would never ever protest a persons right to that.  BUT  I don't think that gives me the right to go into the home of someone who is anti-hunting and force them to eat meat or not allow them to have their cause.  I would rather sit down and ask questions, find out why they choose the way the choose and ask are they happy etc...  but then again I find people quite interesting genia pigs.

I think the producers of that show "Force" the people to do that crap!
Hopefully, they replaced the stuff that was discarded. It does make it a better show bec they always find families who are exact opposites and make them experience each other's 'reality'.
