I use to love sports...

I was the fastest runner in my year at school....I wasn't always though, but something just happened...I will write about it one day...

I can't even run up my road now....I am too unfit!

we've had three hurricanes and/or tropical storms off the west coast of Mexico- I think that has been pushing a lot of hot humid air up here.  The ocean breezes are really nice- right by the ocean.

Nan...what happened to San Diego being in the mid 80's all the time???
Do you at least feel the ocean breeze?

I've got it pretty cool in here now but when I was outside earlier- it was like being on Mars!  Mister Cat still loves to lay in the sun, no matter what.  He likes the combination of the air conditioning and a sunny spot!

Sorry Shelly...it was so funny how I read Nan's comment. I'm in a goofy

mood. Sorry! LOL However, it is only in the high 80's here and we have a swamp cooler so....I'm not hot! Also I know since I grew up in NY that it's the humidity that's the killer.  Do you have AC?

i love bowling, i love watching most sports. i'm with you about people

taking the game (pick a game, any game) too seriously.  i played on a not-going-to-win-anything-anyway softball team and the pitcher that i was up against was hurling the ball as hard as he could and got mad when i asked him to soften it up a bit.  what's the point of playing if you can't have friendly jawing back and forth during a fun afternoon of sloppy sports?  as competent as i am in bowling, i won't do the league thing either.

i tried once.  i went as a guest of someone who was in a league.  first and foremost was the collection of dues, very serious business, that.  then we started playing.  with the exception of the people on my immediate team, no one would talk to me.  i was a small woman, girlish in appearance and dressed down to boot, i got a lot of looks down the noses but that was it.  until they suddenly noticed i was throwing strikes and in the lead individually.  then all of a sudden it became a competition and the guys got mad 'cause i was beating them and the looks changed from despisement to hatred.

whatever, dudes!

Shelly,

When I went to England to visit with some friends, one of them got the bright idea to ask me to play a few rounds of mini golf with him...I told him we'd best not...Unless of course the prospect of losing his own "golf balls" somehow appealed to him!!

This should give you some idea of how safe it is to play sports with yours truly!!!!....

Shelly: I was bad at sports too.

Picked last in baseball, played right field, always got the sign to bunt.  Yeah.  All of the cliches.  That was me.

I was good at Dodgeball though.  Until our school outlawed it because it hurt some kids feelings.  They said softball was better for our fragile egos.

So, back to right field I went, sitting in a field of Dandelions.

Don't I feel better now?

Good morning Shelly....I hope you are feeling better this morning......

I used to enjoy bowling years ago but I was never good at it either and I was always the team's handicap. LOL  Now because of my long manicured nails it's just not feasible! Hahahaha I hope you have a good day!
