This is good and very lyrical. I hope you're well.

Lonelyroad, no war makes sense, but thank God for poetic renderings

PassionFlower, your poem is worth reading a second, third or fourth time

Here's the poem I wrote last week on the war-"The Deep Mourning"

I cry for the world.

So many men
Bent on domination
Afraid
To show weakness.

I cry for our children,

Precious casualties
Of madness
And for a future
We may not see.

I weep for our race.

So much potential.
Yet lost to egos
And greed,
A lust for power.

I've recently written a poem about the sadness of war too.
I guess it's on all our minds lately. We're all very worried about where this is going.

Well the reason I use sandbox is because if you ask someone whos active duty if they've been to the sandbox and your refering to Iraq.  But I see your point

Not Offended At All

A lot of my Republican friends are appalled by Bush, and his low approval rating around the world only makes the terrorism situation worse.  The only (and very minor) comment I would make is about the use of the word "sandbox"- that may have added some humor that doesn't quite fit in this poem (but what do I know).  Lots of very strong, specific visuals, and the rhyming works well here.

Well-done.      --Shawn, "Tall & Skinny Poet"

not always easy to say what you mean
yet when thought  begins to fester
your Truth shines undaunted...

I agree with you.  And unlike so many people who have an opinion on this matter, I know what its like to be in harms way as well as having loved ones there too because my father, brother, and I are all active duty.

It use to make sence to me

There is no way we could let them take are own planes and destroy are lives because thats just what they did

Now I see what you are talking about are soilers are not only fighting terror but they also have to worry about every citizen that walks by them are they strapped with bombs will the next car parked blow up killing more
