SuccessWarrior – isn't that what the Touchy-Feelies say? Where were you a Cop?

Sounds like when I was a cop
Cops are not supposed to judge whether someone is guilty or innocent but if you were going to arrest them, you had to believe they were guilty.

Doesn't judging go both ways?

Am I not able to judge something superior to something else? Cannot I be judged innocent in court? To judge something or someone does not necessarily mean a condemnation, does it?

The King James platitude: "Judge not, least ye be judged" is just that, a platitude. It seems to mean something, until you examine it more closely. Similarly to "Think Peace," it appears profound until you strip it bare...but there I go again, judging.

the biblical referance to judging
is do not condemn or damn others ( including yourself) because your knowledge of the human heart is grossly inadequate. It does not mean suspend reasoning faculties employed for survival and success obviously.

Let me understand this, Schatz...
When you say "No one should judge...", isn't that judging?

"It's not some place that I would want to be if that is the case."

Exactly!

Thank you Blackcat.
No one should judge something as serious as a person's ability to appease a God that person may or may not believe in. Yes, we all judge. In some places, as in my kids' safety with so-and-so, we are meant to judge. However, I don't compare judging someone's level of intelligence to, say, which kind of candy bar I like best. That, to me, is oversimplifying the matter a bit.

We judge all the time...

I mean that.everyone of us is continually judging: I like this candy bar better than that; she's prettier than that one; I'm hungry...sleepy...whatever. All the time we're judging. Isn't it natural, therefore, that we also judge the "spiritual" aspects of our lives?

I like how Gome thinks most of the time. Gome even likes my stuff occasionally. I suspect we each judge them to be better than a lot of other stuff here...we judge.

Most bloggers here look at their ratings...because they are being judged by other bloggers, for better or worse.

So don't give me a platitude like "We shouldn't judge." It's just plain silly.

I don't think it's our place to judge who gets into heaven... in fact,
it's not our place to judge at all.
