Freudian, maybe, Mademoiselle? Anyway, besides a few who believe their
teams are going to be in the running, a couple who are in the game for the first time (or maybe second), and the guy who gets bonuses for anything and everything he does  -- no, the outcome doesn't matter to a good percentage of these overpaid primadonnas.  Oh, there is the other guy -- the one who plays the game to win, period, like retired Cal Ripken, Jr., Nolan Ryan, and quite a few of the old school guys.  There are probably a couple of those guys out there as well (and those are the ones we want out there).

P.S.

I have no clue why I put the word "outcome" in parentheses.

Does the (outcome) of the All-Star Game really even matter to the participants?

I mean really.

Cause, World Series home field on the line or not, it seems like they were all just sorta goofing off.

I am an American League fan too (Detroit Tigers!)
And growing up in the 70's I watched the NL win year after year after year. I prefer it this way instead!
