JanesOpinion, I especially like your "getting up and walking" comment. It is so true. People who work all day at a desk should do that. People who blog too long at a time (like me) need to break it up and alternate with physical activity.

LeRoy, you know, I vaguely recall such a bloke.
Yeah, right. Hey, think if the oddball makes another run for Pres in 08 that he'll leave the sun tan lotion at home????

George S's investments
Jane,
Ths isn't the first time George S. has made bad investments. I seem to remember a guy George put a lot of money on back in 04. The tall guy with weird orange pigment in his skin who was always riding a surf board or something. Do you remember? I can't remember his name.

Corbin, usually if someone has PAD, they also have
CAD as well -- coronary artery disease. So they should be able to fly unless their CAD is very unstable. It is possible to develop chest pain in a pressurized cabin since the O2 isn't quite as high as what you and I breathe in terra firma. Not to mention the stress of flying. As well, sitting for long periods of time isn't great since blood flow is compromised to begin with; in a plane it will be worse.

Yes Shamsuddin you're right. Wouldn't it be nice to know
that you could drop a few million and be OK.

I am sorry the test was not successful. But the losses could not have happened to a better person.

Offbeats, there are too many diseases out there that perhaps it's
better NOT to know anything about. Ya know? Ignorance is bliss.
I do have an old gentleman who walks past my house daily. He stopped to talk with me once, and told me that he had PAD. The best treatment, he found, was walking and he does it faithfully. He had pain, sure, but the more he walks the better he is.

blackcat thanks for stopping in.
PAD sometimes leads to amputation -- worst case scenario -- so a fix it drug would be helpful. My goal is to do my small part to prevent those drastic measures in folks. Let's quit smoking and stop blogging and get off our duffs and walk! (OK, sorry, I'm on my high horse and need to go take that walk myself.)

Yeah, Corbin, I thought so too!
And truly, there are some pretty decent treatments for PAD, one of which is getting up and . . . walking!

Jan
I never heard of the disease or the treatment until now. I guess there really isn't a treatment now though. Doesn't sound good!

I'm sure that won't hurt him too much. Too bad about the drug though.
