- Go to Happiness Is Overrated
whim, when I am unhappy, I don't want those around me NOT to know
so, I wear black and even a veil sometimes.
I put my hair in pony tails like a small child and look very Shirley Temple sadly into the mirror, to remind myself of just how unhappy I am.
I wear, the opposite, too, bright clothing, foolishly placed, to make others smile and to remind me that some day, once again, I might smile, too.
I tell everyone, because silent unhappiness can kill you like it did my little 24 year old neighbor mother of two last week. Silence kills, not the unhappiness and I learned that early, being a manic depressive.
But, I allow myself to be unhappy, just don't allow myself to take me where I used to go and don't want to go anymore.

Is this the old Rodgers and Hart song:
"I'm Happy to be Unhappy." ??
