Thnx Markng. I C "toddler" as dicey,ambiguous. 2-3 yr old trees r ?
I stretched the metaphor too hard; hope I did not hurt any kids in the process. But I will continue to work on this; any better word for a 2-3 year old tree that begins maturing, would be welcome.

The first one is great, but 'toddlers' is not too palettable to me in this context. :D

I think that we can all agree that we are therapuetic (SP) for each other.
In the cafe' Cindy7 has decided to attack me for my financial situation. I dont' know what her problem is other than stuck up. Anyway, I only got 4 hours last night so in the next segment of Ypunday's blog I'll post the few I wrote for today, then back to bed for 2 more!

Ok. Now that you know my circumstances you have a better understanding
of my strong reactions. I am not trying to be difficult, and I don't hold a grudge against anyone, I appreciate your kindness and tolerance towards me. I am not necessarily having an easy time, so I do appreciate a few light hearted moments, as much as I can handle anyway.

I am very sorry, everyone...especially MarieClaire. Please accept my apology, MarieClaire. I am sorry that my comment was so disturbing to you... I was speaking from ignorance. I would never deliberately make a hurtful comment to anyone here. It would be such a loss to this fine group for you to not participate....you have so much to contribute! I have been reading your posts, and I am glad to have discovered your writing from YPunday's Haiku Blog.
Also, everyone, I realize that maybe I don't know enough to write true Haiku in the form it requires...deserves. I am beginning to see now that Haiku as an artform deserves more than just fitting seventeen syllables into a frame. I have a full plate right now also: I am working on an editing project that I need to finish up, AND I am entering my jewelry in an art and craft show on 5 August...I have a lot to do to get ready for this show!! I confess to getting distracted by all your interesting, beautiful work...and all the fun you are having! You are all so good at what you do, and each one of you is a great inspiration to me! I shall look foward to returning when I have finished my work responsibilities, and am more prepared to participate and have more time for PLAY! Until then, happy Haikers...keep Haiking those kus!

Okay, TAPS did not wield her powerful veto pen.....more viagra from dave

Turn me off, man!

Theme for tomorrow--Wednesday--the hump of the week: SLEEP. Before u go TAPS, you gotta see this pictuire of swftfox from 99 years ago.

Hi Dave, u r indeed a swftfox. You outfox the sandman nightly. Do rest up
Six hours sounds okay for you! Workaholic! Even if your work involves 4 hours of poetry and writing. You are a role model---having way too much fun without sleep. But I can see that while waiting on clients, you can put pen to paper and become productive even on a busy (sleep-deficit) day. Bravo! Sleep it is...unless TAPS vetoes us both.

Dave, swftfox, marieclaire and especially MUSER and TAPS..."kigo" time
Time to come up with the next challenge. But a request, let's try a kigo topic. I am less inspired by human elements or the senryu in this blog. I do have another that is "SOME SENRYU...." for the other variety, y'know.

Marie Claire! you do what you need to do. We all understand and we are
all in support of you. By the way, the French DO NOT SUCK at haiku, so just stop it. K?

Ypunday! Glad you could finally make it! I had to give up and go to work!
It sounds like you have been drinking! You are having way too much fun! I suggested the theme "sleep" because it is something I am so ill-acquanted with! hahaha. Actually, I am home and probably gonna get 6 hours of sleep tonight instead of 3 and I think tomorrow may slow down a bit. I have to do laundry and then type in the poems I wrote today. I had a banner day today - four poems and 5 or 6 haiku. One poem is gonna steam up some folks! Got to give it a "R" rating.

posted by swftfox on July 11, 2006 at 8:52 PM | link to this | reply

Marieclaire66, I know you had a tough family tragedy; not my choice. NOT
Did someone suggest that? Usually, haiku are meant to be about nature. SENRYU are satirical and mix Natural and Human elements. A true haiku has KIGO--a seasonal reference-- as TAPS alluded tooo while dribbling coffee all over her beautiful lips....take care. We know you are grieving, and the spirit is living and in believing Simon is commforting you ...gives us a BIG connection. Spirit and Bodies are linked. Shalom

Are you lsitening Ann. Ineed some clicks for this joke and cartoon-rich possibility. LOL

swiftfox! Coffee, great coffee, exceptional coffee...depends on many
important factors including the size of the coffee bean! The smaller the bean, the more intense the flavor is! And...I meant the other driver's on the road.but I am going to start wondering about you if you continue such a crazy schedule!

you are all so good. Enjoyed all the haikus very much,
even though I only like the smell of coffee and do not drink it myself. The French if they suck at haikuying do make good coffee, (but not me, I drink green tea).

Ohby the way MUSER! I forgot to tellyou how much I enjoyed yours as well...
Size really matters? Now you scare me! I did get a laugh out of the coffee poured into the cream. Keep writing, I love it all!

HaHaHa Muser are you talking about me or the people I meet? lol
Actualy I am on my last legs right now and still have a fivehour drive tonight. I am probably gonna sleep here at the limo shop just to save that hour round trip home and back at 6:30 tomorrow a.m.! I did write some haiku today but too tired to put them on. Maybe later if Ypunday will decide on a theme for tomorrow. I hope he picks mine!!!!!!  Cause that is what I wrote about anyway! And if you and TAPS get to talking to sexy, you'll have me to deal with......I wish!

posted by swftfox on July 11, 2006 at 1:03 PM | link to this | reply

swiftfox...I don't know how you do it! Since you are drinking coffee in
such copious amounts, I wonder if you will ever sleep again! Be careful out there...just because a person is certifiably insane doesn't mean he is ineligible for a driver's liscense!

I'm back for just a minute...not even long enough for a cup of coffee..TAPS
I love your first Haiku..."With you I share my carafe"...such a delicate way of saying I love waking up with you and having coffee...or maybe not...but I think it is sooooooooooooooooooo romantic...what is implied, not said! CIAO!

I am losing a lot of sleep and the job may be next! hahaha At least when I am driving the limo and waiting for customers to have their supper, I can sit out there and write! Oh yeah, TAPS...with all my love, it's "gourmet"...I think

WATCH ME...EAT MY DUST...I'M OUTTA HERE...GONE WITH THE WIND...Y'ALL

wee red coffee bean
so small yet so powerful
size really matters

Cup of java. Please.
To go. I'm in a hurry.
No. Not in your lap!

caffeine addictive?
I'd like some more coffee. now.
my hand is shaking?

just the right color
some coffee poured into cream
add sugar. stir. drink.

first sip of coffee
the taste is like no other
better than the last

O.K., where's my mug?
I must have it for coffee.
No other will do.

Wow, you coffee drinkers were up early doing your thing.   These are all great.   They make me want to go make another fresh pot and read them again.    Here is my late-to-the-game, measly three:

Mocha magic, hot
as the day is long, with you
I share my carafe

Starbuck's, the gormet's
magnet, is not a
penny

Instant or freeze dried
Eee-ewww!   If that's all there is,
please pass the sugar.

Coffee? Don't be daft.
I'm English, I prefer tea,
Freshly boiled for me.

And do not use bags,
The leaf must swim free and sing
To enjoy this thing.

And brew in a pot!
Be sure to warm that pot first!
Control your keen thirst.

Now, milk in, then tea
Use cup and saucer, not mug,
You beverage thug!

Wow! You are all amazing! I am going to have to bow out of this one...

at least for now. My limo drive last night lasted 9 hours - til 3 a.m. this morning (right now) and I have to getup in 3 hours and go back and drive four more hours, then 1-1/2 hour off and then drive another 2 hours, then 3 off and then drive another 6. Big conference! Good money but I am really tired. Could use a cup of coffee somewhere in there!

Coffee, dark and hot
Flow across my tongue and wake
Up all my senses!

Coffee and caffeine
Relentless combination
I can't stop shaking!

Robust sapidity
Rich and full, slightly bitter
Start off my morning

A cold winter night
Is no match for a hot cup
of steaming coffee

Vibrant and lively
Coffee can be nature's best
Aphrodisiac

O.K. I lied, now I have to go to bed!

Hicup--hiccup--hiccupping for haiku. Yes, the theme is coffee. Plenty
for everyone. Seconds are also available. The taste is almost perfect, a pinch of Arab politics in the ol' bean. (Apologies to the Robusta blends)

Great beginning, YPunday.   I hope all of our haikers love coffee.  That would put soul and spirit into their haikups.
