Timmy, the lion became king because he was the mane animal around.
He gave all the other animals paws for thought and they all thought they'd get a roar deal without him as king. Also, once crowned, he took a lot of pride in his job. He had to, or elsa they'd sack him. He was finally deposed by Elton John.
