Thanks. In NZ no fourth, but a piece of chocolate cake from my chiropractor
who is American. So there. I, too put other people's happiness first and it cost me my marriage probably. Always eager to please, I probably lost myself in the process, and when I finally woke up to myself, I was confronted by other people's selfishness, they prefered my eager to please days. I still think though, that we have to let our kids get on with their own lives.  My daughter is happy so I am happy, she is old and mature enough to make her own way. You are doing the right thing, relying on God, send Him a blog!

Yes, Marie, that has always been the case with me, not just my sons
but wives as well. I have always put the happiness of others before mine. Probably why I don't have much happiness, except for seeing others happy. Seems like nobody cares enough about me to worry about my happiness. But anyway, my boys do. It is all good. I just need sleep more than anything else! They are together out shopping for fireworks while I fix food for tonights party! Happy fourth!

I say this in the hope that it will help.
but then , don't be scared by I am about to tell. Having lost my son, it was excruciatingly painful to watch my daughter move out. I nearly went nuts, but what got me through is the thought, that her happiness came first, and I could not hold her back for my sake. Knowing I set her  free really helped, that she is happy is my only consolation. We are really close. Try to enjoy the moment. I know it is hard, but they are in God's care remember. You can get through this, I assure you. Lots of love and prayers.
