It is very sad.  I knew nothing about it and you are correct, it would not be appropriate to say anything at this time.  I hope she will be able to find a place also.  It may be difficult for her to adjust after many years.  I got the impression that she raised her children in the projects/ghetto and I am thinking she may have to return to living in public housing.  I do not think she finished high school or ever worked.  Again, very sad and thanks for comments.  Also, I agree that those who tell me to lighten up are from the dark side.

It certainly is better to earn less and be able to
sleep at night. Sometimes there are things that one should speak out about. If you had found out about the drugs while he was still alive, that would have been the time. To say anything now would only cause more heartbreak because nothing can be done to change it. Sometimes, you just have to let things slide.

I usually find that the ones saying that it is best to lighten up, are the ones who are adding to the darkness.  This is a sad situation, this Mom's life.  What can you say? I only hope she finds someplace to live.
