oh, I finally managed to read this post right through.
I thought I would make the effort, it is interesting, unfortunately, I agree there will be no end to this problem. I have a friend/student who is Israeli/Jewish, she tried to explain the situation to me time and time again, I have a thick skull but I think I am starting to gain an understanding. I am sorry to say the French are rather anti-american and have a lot of contempt for them, arrogant bunch they are, but I am one of them... I can understand your outrage even though I don't claim to fully grasp the situation, I have always thought the Americans were not very wise in matters of international diplomacy, (you are going to kill for saying this!) but then there are a lot of things I don't know. The French are trying to keep their nose out of the whole affair but they have been known to supply weapons here and there, don't ask which country I can't remember. They certainly don't have an unblemished track record. Politics is not my thing, but I do feel for the Israelis, my friend with her stories brought it home to me. She is so glad to be out this madhouse, a real warzone, her mum is a psychologist and she reckons the whole nation suffers from post-traumatic disorder, every one is on edge, it is a mad house a war zone. How can people live like that?
