...the big thing lacking in the world now is a strong opposition to the Washington Concensus. In the days of the USSR, America had to tread a lot more carefully.
Perhaps China will eventually step into that role...

FBI, CIA, U.S. govt
have a history of actons to depose those they don't agree with --
Chile's Pinochet (right?) -- many places in the world -- but U.S.
actions create the opposition. so it doesn't end.
let's admit it -- they hate us.
