I mainly go into women's prison these days. I haven't really found it to be like that myself but I guess I often go in with men (to the men's) who sort of look out for me.

I have visited jails in India and also in the US,
and I can tell you that for a woman to visit a man's jail is to feel devoured by the inmates visually. Can't blame them though if they are kept the way they are.
